Ruddigore Gilbert and Sullivan Seattle Everett Steampunk
So, we're doin' this show...
"Ruddigore" is Gilbert and Sullivan.
(Short definition: Victorian Musical Comedy).
It's a rare Gilbert & Sullivan piece, first put up in 1887.
It ran for hundreds of performances, and then it was shelved,
for a long while.
We retrieved it, and figured out a contemporary angle.
Steampunk!
(Short definition: Victorian Science Fiction.)
So, it's Victorian Musical Comedy meets
Victorian Science Fiction.
The story line is exciting fantasy.
Cursed by a witch!
Chased by ghosts for all eternity!
Accused of crimes he was forced to commit!

I play an Ancestor, Sir Lionel Murgatroyd,
the Sixth Baronet of Ruddigore. He is an angry ghost,
who comes out of a painting. Since this was written
in 1887, before movies were invented in 1895,
my part makes me the world's first moving picture.
Got that?
I made a video, to explain "Ruddigore."

Love the outtakes! How long did it take you to train the show poster?
ReplyDeleteMere fractions of a second. Poster's a natural Actor, follows his instinct. Oh, and gravity.
